Ornament Swap : )

Yay! I received my  package on Tuesday but waited until today to post about it because I wanted to make sure that my swap partner Stephanie received her package and there wouldn't be any spoilers : )

When I went to the post office to pick up my package I was very excited and as soon as I saw the  packaging my eyes went all googly : )

I LOVE smiley faces!

Merry Christmas Dear Stephanie : )

We are ready for the holidays : ) plus we cut out this lil tree drawing and it is now hanging on Miguelito's bedroom wall!

The package was so pretty and right away I could see that Stephanie had really put her heart into it. I picked the package up early in the morning and had to wait until the afternoon when Miguelito came out of school to be able to open the package. What an exciting surprise and wonderful way to end his day.

Our ornaments : )

Miguelito's little sock puppet ornament called "Sonic", and my beautiful Mom ornament!

My beautiful ornament and Sonic : )

Thank you so much Stephanie! For such a beautiful and thoughtful package. We LOVED everything! Not only were the ornaments beautiful but the words you wrote to me in my card and the reason you chose my ornament it really does mean a lot. Muchas Gracias Sweet Girl : ) Not only did I gain a new friend but Miguelito also gained a new pen pal : )

This is what we sent Stephanie and Zac:

Miguelito's postcard to Zac, a little felt snowman bucket, holiday lollipops, santa chocolates, mood pencils, do it yourself ornaments.

Christmas card for Stephanie and her boys : ), Hand painted ornament, New York key-chain with her name, Christmas decoration, and a True Blood drink : )

The ornament I chose for Stephanie had a hand painted "Noche Buena Flower" a Mexican flower that comes out in December and it represents that the holiday season is here. It's used in Christmas and is used as a Christmas symbol. In the US it's known as the poinsettia : )
I am so happy that her package arrived safely and that she loved everything. You can read more about her package here.

I can't think of a better way to start the holiday season then to receive such a pretty and thoughtful package in the mail. Plus the most beautiful thing I got out of this swap was a new friend : )
Thank you Stephanie : )

And a million thanks to Micaela for organizing such a fun swap and for partnering me up with such a beautiful girl : )

Fill In The Blanks Friday

Help!I've fallen and I can't get up! I think I ate to much. That was how I felt yesterday after eating way to much DELICIOUS food. I will write more about that later.  Thank you so much to all my blog friends who wished me a very Happy Thanksgiving : ) and I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day and enjoyed with all of their loved ones.

A quick post today from Lauren's Fill in The Blanks Friday : )

1.   Black Friday is craziness, being really desperate, and so not worth it!

2.  Christmas shopping this year will include  shopping for Miguelito, family and friends : )

3.  Holiday shopping makes me  happy and annoyed. Things get bad with other very rude people, living in New York makes you a little crazy but that's ok you have to be crazy to live in NYC Ha!

I Love the time I went shopping and found this little boy on sale : )

5.  Bargain hunter, or full price shopper?   Hmmm- I'm both. I love to find a good bargain and when I go shopping I look for bargains but if what I need is not on sale I still get it because I need it. I love to go thrifting!!

6.  The best and worst things about shopping is   The best thing - is shopping by myself  it's very relaxing just browsing the aisles and daydreaming a little : ) Maybe hoping I'll bump into James Mcavoy or a certain vampire ; P  The worst things going shopping when there are way to many people (which is about to start next week) Especially because they all get pushy and oh so rude! Personally I don't like getting pushed or elbowed really really hard - New Yorkers are mean!

7.  Online shopper or in-person shopper?  Both! I especially love shopping on Craigslist,Ebay, or Etsy!

A Sea Of Colors : )

Our weekend was great it was full of so many activities. On Saturday Miguelito played his last soccer game of the season, after wards we ran back crosstown to go and see Harry Potter : ) It was all I expected and more. I can't get over the fact that the end is almost near : ( and the last Harry Potter installment will come out on July 15,2010.
Sunday was spectacular we were blessed with excellent weather perfect for kid races : ) and a stroll through Central Park in which we got to take in all the beautiful colors : )
As for this week it has been a very busy one full of excitement and anticipation. Work has been crazy and I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that the school administration accepts my idea regarding reading to kids who come from non-speaking English homes. Once we get back to school next week I will be working hard to push that program along. For now I have to work hard on getting more parents on board.
Thanksgiving is just 2 days away and already the city is bustling with the anticipation of the Macy's Thanksgiving parade : ) We are so excited! I get to take Miguelito out from school early tomorrow so we can go see the balloon inflation and then come home to go to sleep super early to go get a good spot at the Thanksgiving parade and after wards run home to do some cooking - Phew I'm tired already but oh so happy : )
Plus my Humbe is off from work so it will really be a happy Thanksgiving - Yay!
This will be one of the best Thanksgiving's ever full of magic and weddings ; D

Just in case I don't get to log in tomorrow. I wish everybody a very Happy Thanksgiving full of love and happiness. Eat lots of turkey - you only get to eat it once a year - Ha! And most important enjoy your loved ones : )

My Movie Place

First of all " I Love Harry Potter"!!!!!I am so happy we got to see the newest installment of Harry Potter - It is great! And so sad even though I knew what was going to happen. I can't wait to see it again with different eyes and more relaxed because I am sure to notice something I didn't see the first time : ) I can't wait until July 15,2010!!!

Ah! My movie place. As I sit here and type this I am also watching one of my all time favorite movies on Dvd which technically and officially isn't released on Dvd until December 4,2010. That's 2 weeks from now. How is that possible and which movies is it?
First of all it's all thanks to my secret little movie place which was discovered 2yrs ago : ) During our visits to what we call "El Barrio". The barrio is located 2 buses and 30mins away from us, it is where we go to when we want to eat or get real Mexican products. One day as we walked around el barrio we saw a lot of people surrounding a little table as we got closer we saw that a store was selling dvd's outside their storefront. They weren't just your normal dvd's, they were dvd's that were not due to be released until two weeks later and they were just $5.00 each : )
Are they bootleg? Well what is the definition of bootleg? something, as a recording, made, reproduced, or sold illegally or without authorization.  Ok! so they are considered bootlegs, not by me thou not at all, to me a bootleg is a movie that is recorded straight from the movie theater and this is not from the movie theater it is a Dvd copy, it has all the extras, previews, and other goodies that come in a normal dvd. I guess the only thing is that they are not copyright.
Au contraire these Dvd's have saved me lots of money : ) I love movies!!! and used to spend lots of money on Dvd's when Miguelito was a baby. I really wish I would have found this place sooner : )
But I am happy to have it now. Today as we walked around el barrio we stopped by and I got myself a copy of - Drum roll please : ECLIPSE!!!!!!!
I was literally jumping up and down and still am : )

P.S.Let me know what you think about bootleg movies?

You better watch Out!

You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list,
And checking it twice;
Gonna find out Who's naughty and nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!

O! You better watch out!
You better not cry.
Better not pout, I'm telling you why.
Santa Claus is coming to town.
Santa Claus is coming to town.
Christmas is just around the corner! How exciting - It's the happiest time of the year : D

Hey - I Love You

My dinner - Sopes and coffee : D

Today was a very rainy and chilly day here in NY, as I walked out of my building this morning I realized it was the first time it actually smelled and looked like autumn : D Autumn is the prettiest season because of all the beautiful colors red, yellow, orange, and brown - Breathtaking : D

As I sit here and relax after eating my dinner (sopes , and coffee - shown above) I miss my Humbe. He's usually home by 9:00pm but now with his new working hours 10:00am to 10:00pm, we don't get to spend  time together. Well not as much as we'd like. This morning I woke up feeling so full of love, a crazy feeling I felt like it was bottled up and I was about to explode.

The following goes out to my Humbe:
I Love you chaparro (shorty)
Thank you so much for putting up with me. I know I'm spoiled but on my behalf you are partly to blame.
Thank you for working  hard so that Miguelito and me are ok.
Thank you for letting me cry on your shoulder without asking questions.
Thank you for letting me blab away even though you know your right and I'm wrong.
Thank you for sticking by my side through thick and thin.
Thank you for knowing that something is wrong with me just by talking with me on the phone.
Thank you for being the WONDERFUL father that you are.
But most important of all Thank you for Loving me for the women that I am and accepting the whole Karina Package. I love you my Humbe and feel so honored to call you my husband.

Miguelito and me have been listening to this song non-stop.
When Humberto gets home I will run to him and start singing it to him - Ha!

Seems like everywhere I go
The more I see
the less I know
But I know one thing:
That I love you
I love you
I love you
I love you

P.S.  3 Days left Till Harry Potter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooooooohoooooooo!!!!!

Karina In Simple Terms : )

The days go by so fast if you don't stop and take a look around something might pass you by. Hope that everyone had a great weekend and an even happier Monday : D Our Monday is an exciting one because we get to start our Harry Potter marathon counting down to Friday. I will pick up our Harry Potter tickets tomorrow!!!!! 4 more days till the next Harry Potter installment ; D

North Carolina - 2008

 1) I always need to make it to the movie theater on time. I LOVE the previews! and it's a must for me.

2) I'm spoiled : D  And Humberto spoils me even more - Thank God fro True Love : D

3) I must sleep with the door closed! I will not sleep if it is open. It's all part of me being a scaredy cat. What if I'm sleeping and something try's to come and get me, or the door starts swinging - shuddering : P
Door Closed!!!

4) Worms Freak me out! Yeah Yeah they are small and won't eat me or anything but they can squirm after me.

5) I HATE-HATE-HATE water bugs. I swear they are trying to get me.

True Story:
I was five months pregnant with Miguelito and I was at our movie place trying to decide what scary movie to rent. When I felt something in my leg, I ignored the feeling and kept skimming through the movies when I felt it again something walking/crawling through my leg. I told my sister I felt something and she said it must be my head, when I felt it again this time in my inner thigh. I freaked out and squished my jean and held on for dear life. I'm standing there with a handful of jean crying. My sister tells me to take my jeans off, I'm in a public place. I can't - she says jump up and down what if it runs I can't but it's my only choice. I get ready, let go and start jumping up and down, meanwhile I'm screaming and crying, after jumping for like what seems an eternity something really big and brown and still alive comes flying out -  it was a HUGE water bug!!! I was crying so hard I got an anxiety attack. 3 yrs later when I worked in Curves a water bug ran after me seriously it started chasing after me. That's why I say they are out to get me. Oh but that was horrible, I can just imagine how my Miguelito felt while I was jumping up and down.

SnapShot Sunday

11 Days left till Thanksgiving : D
We were blessed with such beautiful weather this weekend - mid 60's. Only bummer - my Humbe had to work this weekend and he will be working 7 days a week from now on : ( It leaves us wondering when will we have family day again? He works 10hrs a day. My little partner in crime and me decided to go walking through Central Park, and eat lots of sweet treats to forget our worries and enjoyed life in general : D

Wishing everybody a great week and very Happy Monday : D

Is Thanksgiving really the forgotten Holiday?

It's Wednesday night and Miguelito has no school tomorrow - Yay! It's also my day off from work since the school is closed : D  We just finished eating spaghetti tacos and watching Diary of A Wimpy Kid, now I'm here sitting in front of my computer, Miguelitos playing with his action figures and we're listening to "Live your Life - Rihanna" (one of Miguelito's favorite songs -lol )

As I sit here and think about the upcoming holidays I wonder why is it that Thanksgiving is somewhat overlooked due to the excitement of Christmas preparations. Have you noticed when going to a store to buy decorations the Thanksgiving ones are all crowded in a little corner somewhere, meanwhile you have aisles and aisles of Christmas decorations and knick knacks. Store window displays are all decorated with Santa Claus and Rudolph the red nose reindeer. So what happened to Thanksgiving and hanging up little pilgrims or Turkeys - Gobble Gobble.

I love Thanksgiving and all the excitement that comes with it : D Like the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade : D
We live three blocks away from where they inflate the balloons. The day before Thanksgiving is always
so much fun, I get to take Miguelito out from school early so that we can catch the balloon inflating - shhhhhh don't tell anybody....

Miguelito with my Lil Lilo - his auntie Jessy : D

We are really looking forward to Thanksgiving and the Macy's Thanksgiving parade especially since we will actually get to go to the parade this year. I've been putting it off for years due to the fact that I didn't want Miguelito to get sick  ( it's either been raining or been really cold the past years) and we have to wake up really early to get a good spot : D

15 Days Left Till Thanksgiving

What are you looking forward to this Thanksgiving?
