Seize the day because life is what you make it...

It's the simple things in life...

❤ Enjoying some whole grain blueberry pancakes.

❤ Spending time with my baby always makes me happy!

❤ Snacking on some trail mix in between lunch and dinner.

❤ Cooking Kale for dinner.

❤ My "Do I really have to eat Kale" face - Ha! I'm just a real dork who likes making silly faces :)

❤ Stopping by 96th Street & bumping into The Cupcake & Bicycle from Cupcake & Bicycle blog!

So, that's how my week went by. Eating healthier, getting my 3.32 miles done every morning (except Monday, due to me still being sick), spending time with Miguelito and helping him prepare for his last week of State testing for the year - woohooo!!!

Now  to get ready for another big step for my Miguelito.
His Communion is next Sunday - May 6th!
He has a retreat tomorrow and Soccer in the afternoon, Sunday we will go to Church and spend time with my parents afterwards (which is what I LOVE to do most). Then we will begin a new week where we will say goodbye to April and welcome in May - so fast!

Gah! Not to mention that I still need to buy myself a dress and Miguel's Communion suit!
I am sure to cry when I see him all suited up :D

Happy Friday my loves & and wishing you an even happier weekend!

Love,
Kary xoxo

A runner must run with dreams in his ❤...

And my dream is to run in races again and someday run the ING NYC Marathon like my dad & hubby!

Like I said in this post here. I've always loved to run, there's something  just so liberating about it!
Therefore these past three weeks have been heaven, I've been able to once again start jogging lightly around the reservoir located in Central Park. Now when I say jogging lightly I mean that I power walk, run, power walk, run, power walk, run for 3.32 miles. I'm very happy to say that this week my time has gone down! Which means that I am running more and I can't wait till the day when I can tell you that I officially ran all of the 3.32 miles! Give me a month - I promise!! :)

Me after my morning workout! Thus the reason for the very red face :)
I fell of the wagon once and it's been a very long journey to finally get to this point in my life. I've never been SO determined to be the best that I can be, a healthier me, and a more fitter me! You my beautiful friends have always been here for me and with your encouraging words, tweets and emails you've always helped me believe that I can and that I will be "me" again!
Thus begins my weight loss adventure and I know that by posting updates on how I'm doing, I have no excuse to not keep my word.

So far it's been three months that I stopped drinking soda - yes!!!
One month that I stopped drinking juice, and I've been drinking nothing but water.
I'm incorporating more green foods into my diet such as Kale and Chard.
I'm eating less rice and eating more Quinoa.

Yesterday hubby and I went shopping at Trader Joe's and we made sure to stock up on some yummy, healthy eats.

Last night's dinner? Kale vegetable soup.
Now I'm looking into a good yet yummy green smoothie recipe, Do you know any?
and I need to get me some sunblock! I read that runners are most likely to suffer from skin cancer. And to tell you the truth I never use sunscreen! I need to start using it stat! Especially when I go for my runs, the sun is always out and it shines on me directly!
Do you have any suggestions on a sunscreen to use?

Are you working on any special goal right now?

Beautiful weather equals.....

An afternoon spent in Central Park with my Munchkin!

I jog by this Cherry Blossom every single morning, and it always makes me smile :)
He is my life & my everything!
Just hanging around :)

I LOVE my TOM'S (they were a steal at an Urban Outfitters sale - $10.00)
Cheese :)

"Life is not measured by the breaths you take, it is measured by the moments that take your breath away."

It was such a beautiful day today, that even though my muscles are super sore from this weeks exercise I knew I couldn't say no to an afternoon of hanging out in Central Park with my munchkin :) Plus we had to celebrate that we (well actually my Miguelito, because he was doing the testing) survived the first week of State testing :) Now to get ready for next weeks round!

I'm so happy for this beautiful breezy weather that we've been having, it's been perfect for my morning jogs around the reservoir in Central Park!

Oh and I've started writing down in my fitness journal again!
I will be jotting down 10.5 miles for this week :)
I am woman hear me roar!!

How's the weather on your side of the world?
Happy almost Friday :)

Love,
Kary xoxo

Back to life, Back to reality........

A view of the Brooklyn Bridge as seen from the Brooklyn bridge park - more pictures to come!
Ready for his first game of the season - Goalllllll!  April 14,2012

So this is just a sneak peak of what our Spring Break looked like. It was a great week full of many adventures thanks to the beautiful weather that we had!
We got to ride in ferries, walk lots, enjoy Central Park, eat lots of yummy food and most important spend time with each other! Which is always a blessing :)
Now we go back to our everyday routine, and back to the hustle and bustle of everyday.

I will be back with more pictures and stories from Spring Break in the meantime won't you send my Miguelito some good vibes and good luck wishes?
He will be taking his first ever State tests, beginning on Tuesday till the end of next week. He will be tested in writing, reading and math.
Thank you loves!

Wishing you all a wonderful Monday!

Just a Minute in...April

 Watching... Once Upon A Time & Dirty Dancing - "I carried a watermelon" :)

Writing... Inspirational quotes in my running journal "Ask yourself: 'Can i give more?'. The answer is usually : 'Yes'." - Paul Tergat, Kenyan professional marathoner

Eating... A Magnum Almond ice cream bar.

Sending... Packages that are way over due. I can be the worst sender ever sometimes.

Wanting... To find a dress for Miguel's Communion, coming up on May 6,2012. I'd seen the perfect one online at Forever21, but by the time I'd decided that it was the one I wanted it was sold out :( Now I'm on the hunt for a dress again! Help!? I need a dress fast.

Planning... A trip to Mexico for the month of July or August! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this works out.

Organizing... Our schedule. These upcoming months are going to go by way too fast. With Miguel's city test coming up, his Communion, a big Mother's Day event - where Miguel will get to sing and play his guitar in front of  a lot of people (separate post on that coming up soon).

Wishing.... That my Miguelito does a good job on the upcoming English & Math city tests that will take place during the next two weeks, beginning next week!

Thinking... That I am one blessed girl. I have a family that LOVES me and the best friends ever!

Feeling... Super pumped!! The weather has been beautiful and that means that I was able to get back to my light jogging around Central Park. I am one super PUMPED girl who has a plan and can't wait to share it with you :)

Happy Monday Loves

Love,
Kary xoxo

He is Risen...

May the Joy of the Lord fill your heart and  home this Resurrection day.

“Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.”

Time goes by way too quickly sometimes!
I remember chatting and sending emails back and fourth with Erin from Pugh's News, planning our meet up when she came to NYC - That was about 5 months ago when she first told me that she was coming to to the Big Apple and that her hotel would be only 4 blocks away from me :) I was over the moon!!
It's so exciting when you finally get to "meet" someone in person after reading their blog and sending each other some happy mail.
Erin & me enjoying some yummy lunch at Chipotle! Happy to be together :)
Erin & Miguelito by Columbus Circle in front of Central Park
I was happy to finally get to hang out and hug the sweet girl who loves tea, You've Got Mail and her beautiful family so much!
Erin is such a sweetheart and oh so very beautiful!
We were able to spend 2 hours together on Sunday afternoon and all of Monday morning together, just before we had to say goodbye :(
Oh. and did I mention that I am the luckiest girl because not only did I get to hug her and hang out with her but I got to meet her beautiful mom & sister Amanda. They are the funniest and sweetest girls ever!
They even convinced Miguelito to choose Victoria, BC Canada over Disney World - something to do with Whale watching (eeekkk! I got chills just by writing that) lol :)
Once again I am shown just how amazing blog world can be and all of the beautiful friendships that are made.
I will be coming back with a post full of pictures from our time together and a story of how my darling friend helped me score a $100.00 gift card to go shopping for new clothes!

I am missing my dear friend very much and can't wait to skype very soon!

Love,
Kary xoxo
