#AD Designer Whey & Smari = Match Made In Heaven

Baby bump and I peeking at our Designer Whey goodies :)
It's not the first time I share with you guys my love for Designer Whey (you can check out my first review here) Thanks to my relationship with FitFluential I was sent these Designer Whey products to try for free. Not only that but I was also introduced to a yummy new yogurt - Smari!
Strawberry shake
Jellybean and I about to enjoy a yummy Designer Whey Bar
Now that I'm pregnant I'm always looking for healthy ways to get my protein and calcium intake, so this package couldn't have arrived at a better time. First of all the only thing that's hard for me is having to share with my boys- ha! I'm not greedy or anything of that sort, but the Designer Whey bars are just too yummy! If I leave the bars out my boys will eat them, so this time I used the prego card and told my husband not to touch them :) Jellybean and I needed them. I did share one bar with him and my munchkin but the rest were mines and Jellybeans. The protein 2GO is my husbands favorite and he always uses it before his morning runs. The shakes are a family must have. I get to do shakes for my boys and I. My munchkin loves taking protein shakes to school and that's the wonderful thing about Designer Whey, it's children friendly, 97% lactose free and contains no gluten :)

I was sent vouchers to try out Smari and the moment I got my hands on this yogurt I knew I had to try  a yummy recipe. First I must apologize because I will not be posting pics, for now. Being pregnant means you can also become absent minded and I don't find my memory with the pictures of the yummy frozen pops we made :( I will continue to look for them because I know they are somewhere in my house, and as soon as I find them I will post the pics on a separate post :) I will leave you with the recipe because it's a must try in my opinion.

Smari is an icelandic yogurt that can't be found at just any supermarket, to find a location near you, you can check out their website here. It is offered in 4 flavors - Strawberry, Vanilla, Pure, and Blueberry. Smari is organic, gluten free and kosher. It is also high in protein and contains very little sugar.
One thing you will notice when you get to try Smari is that it's consistency is very thick yet very creamy. It is a little bit more tart than your usual yogurt but you can always add on toppings such as granola, and fruit. My boys loved adding granola and cranberries.
My munchkin loves yogurt pops and I thought it would be a great idea to combine Designer Whey protein and Smari to make a yogurt frozen pop.

Designer Whey/Smari pops:

1 scoops - Strawberry Designer Whey protein (or whatever flavor you wish to use)
3 - 6oz Strawberry Smari
1 cup soy milk
1 cup fresh strawberries cut up into small pieces
2 spoons of honey

Mix your ingredients together in a bowl, and put into a popsicle mold. Freeze overnight and you are done :)
My boys and Jellybean really enjoyed these pops and they are a new favorite in our house!

Have you tried Designer Whey or Smari?
If yes, what are your favorite flavors?

Jellybean - Bump Update Week 25

What's Up With Baby: Baby is the size of Rutabaga and weighs approximately 1.5 lb (this is according to the BabyBump App)  Jellybean loves to move at night, especially when mommy is trying to go to sleep. I can tell she's another little night owl in the making! She loves to remind me that it's time to eat with little kicks :)

What's Up With Mama: Mommy has a doctor appointment tomorrow where I will have the dreaded glucose test - ugh. Not so excited about that but I got this. I also get to see how much I weigh, crossing my fingers I gained weight and didn't lose any. I wake up fin but as soon as noon hits or the clock says 6pm I start feeling tired. It's a good thing that naps are allowed and a must.

Cravings: Peanut Butter Jelly sandwiches is what these girls want to eat. I could eat one everyday, all day.

Exercise: Running, walking and cardio at home is what helps us going each week.

Feelings: Happy :) I love seeing people that I haven't seen for a while and they will tell me how I'm glowing and how happy I look. This girl is one happy mommy!

Bladder:  I gave my bladder up to Jellybean a while back!

My munchkin - My everything

Fall day in Central Park
Today was the Halloween Pumpkin fest in Central Park and we couldn't miss all the fun, especially since today was a perfect fall day. There was a pumpkin patch and munchkin got to pick out a pumpkin for him and one for Jellybean. I love that he thought of picking one out for his baby sister that is still in my belly. Munchkin also got to participate in other fun activities, like a ninja obstacle, ghost making, and magic show. We also got to meet up with my sister and my beautiful little niece. I got to take some pictures and had to share this one of them two together. It makes me daydream of my munchkin and munchkinette together. I can't wait to take pictures of my two Jellybeans!
It was a perfect fall day that will be treasured :) Family makes everything perfect!

Jellybean - Bump Update Week 24

What's Up With Baby: Baby is the size of corn and weighs approximately 1.25lb (this is according to the BabyBump App). Jellybean is crazy active! Her strength is amazing, she's like a mini hulk. Every time she kicks or punches me I crack up because the force is so strong. I'm only 6 months, with a few more to go just imagine her strength in the weeks to come!

What's Up With Mama: I'm excited to be 6 moths pregnant already but oh my gosh, where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday I was finding out that I was really pregnant and now I'm just a few months away from meeting our little jellybean. I finally got a pimple :) First one during this entire pregnancy. Sleeping at night is becoming a mission all on itself. I can't seem to get comfortable and Jellybean seems to not agree with whichever side I start feeling just a little bit comfortable in. Believe me when I say that I am super tired, it's like the sleepy fairy came by and threw me some sleepy powder, because ever since I hit the 24 week mark all I want to do is sleep. But everything is great! My hematologist appointment is tomorrow, we will see if my platelets when down again and more blood test for a rare disease.

Cravings: Green grapes, apples, oranges and watermelon!! Is all I want to eat.

Exercise: This mommy is still running but this week I've been suffering more from round ligament pain. I have to start walking very slowly to warm up because other wise I feel paralyzed from the pain. I'm making sure to drink lots of water to see if that helps but the pain is still there.

Feelings: Happy, excited and nervous. Just nervous about the labor part. Otherwise I'm feeling so blessed and giddy when I feel jellybean moving around. I know I'm going to miss her lots when she's outside in the real world.

Bladder: Still a mess and jellybeans property until February.

A view from above :) Jellybean and I enjoying munchkins soccer game
My boys! A day with my boys and Jellybean completes me!!

Then came a zombie on the loose:

Ahhhh!! A zombie on the loose!
The scaring crew at the Halloween Hop
Our Saturday morning consisted of munchkins soccer game and then running home to get home for his schools Halloween Hop. This year he is a 5th grader which means that he gets to scare in the haunted house. A job that they look forward to as they fly through the grades, and this was the year.

It was a fun day with my boys and jellybean!

#HuggiesLatino Clean is the way to go!

This is part of a compensated campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Huggies.  However, all opinions expressed are my own.

As we prepare for baby #2 we are so careful with having everything in order and clean. Yes, we have a child already and we are already clean but with a baby on the way everything changes. We know that we must wash our hands and be careful with germs, but a baby doesn't know that. That's where we all come in. I remember when my munchkin was younger we would give him baby wipes and play a game of cleaning your hands really fast. He loved it and had his own personal zip lock back full of baby wipes in his little book bag that he carried around.

Now we make sure to carry them on our Saturday soccer games, they are a must!
I love Huggies for always reinventing their wipes and we are big fans of their newest wipes -
Huggies® Natural Care Wipes with Triple Clean layers
They are amazing for cleaning not only that but they help keep your hands soft and smooth :)
Go buy some and try them out for yourself, you won't regret it!

Now let's go check on Huggies Spokeperson Zuleyka & her son in their monthly webpisode!

Our little Jellybean is such an active baby already. I can just imagine when she's out already.
Good thing for Huggies new Snug & Dry diapers with New Surefit design. They will help her keep secure on her everyday adventures!

Remember to Like Huggies Latino Facebook page to not miss out on updates or Zuleykas monthly webpisodes

Jellybean - Bump Update Week 23

What's Up With Baby:  Baby is the size of a large mango and she's a little bouncing jellybean. We are not even 6 months yet and the force that she kicks and moves with is crazy. Baby girl is strong! I'm happy that she's healthy, shes passed all the exams with flying colors which makes us so happy and feeling so blessed. Jellybean is a riot and we can already think about all the trouble that she will be getting into :)

What's Up With Mama: I'm sleepy!! This week has been a little rough sleep wise. I can't sleep at night because baby girl doesn't let me lay down sideways. She starts moving until I lay facing up :) Smart girl! I can eat better but I'm still having trouble with eating the way I should. Which means that I need to eat 6 times a day instead of 3 times of day. My weight went down a little again. I said I'd lost a total of 10lbs but than I gained 2lbs and now I lost 1 lb, so I've lost a total of  9 lbs. No bueno!!

Cravings:  Anything!! One moment I will want some watermelon, the next it's orange juice or a grilled cheese. Nothing weird like sand. Yes, there are people that crave sand and candles! Eekk!!

Exercise: Running (slowly)  and lots of  walking. Plus afterschool activities and our adventures in the big city never stop!

Feelings: Happy and Blessed!!!!

Bladder: I have no bladder, it is Jellybeans property until February :)

It's The Simple Things In Life...

❤ Brother and sister bonding already. It melts my heart! Jellybean will move non-stop when she hears her big brother talking to her. So much love already.

Seeing a rainbow after the rain has passed. Reminds you that the sun will always come out tomorrow.

❤ Blessed with amazing parents that make the sweetest grandparents. I love seeing the bond between my mom and dad with their grandchildren. So much love it makes my heart want to burst.

❤ Tis the Fall season after all :) and that means that we get to enjoy many Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks - hurray!

Wishing you all a blessed and happy Friday, loves!

#FitFluential On the hunt for a jogging stroller

10 years ago when Jellybean was born, husband and I weren't runners but now we are and a jogging stroller sounds like a good idea. I'm just not sure which one to go with?!?
I've heard that the Bob, Summit X3,  and Blue Mountain are great jogging strollers. Husband and I went to Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby to check some strollers out and saw 3 that we liked. They are not that expensive or that bulky. One thing about living an in apartment on the 4th floor is that having a heavy bulky stroller is not a good idea. Especially since most of the time it will be me taking the stroller up and down the stairs,  husband works a lot.
Do you own a jogging stroller?
What stroller do you recommend, jogging and non-jogging?

Jellybean - Bump Update Week 22

What's Up With Baby: Jellybean is being shy. Yesterday was our second sonogram anatomy appointment. Baby girl didn't let the nurse see her little heart the first time, so I had to go back yesterday so we could try again and baby girl was once again shy. We got there and we saw Jellybeans heart for a few seconds when next thing we see, she turned around and stayed that way. They gave me apple juice to see if the sugar helped, they poked my belly many times and they tilted the bed to where I was almost upside down and nothing. Oh, she's a naughty one! Now I have to go back this Thursday to get a Fetal Echocardiogram. Good news is mommy doesn't need a full bladder and they will be able to see Jellybeans heartbeat no matter her position. She's still moving around like crazy, sometimes she makes me think that she's rearranging things in there. She's such a fluttering butterfly.

What's Up With Mama: I haven't lost any more weight right now and I'm still up the 2lbs that I gained. I'm still working really hard on eating more. My nights are still restless - help?!? My hematologist appointment is on the 23rd of October. I will be given my blood results and I'm getting some test done for a rare disease. Praying and still lots of praying. It's all a little bit scary and I seem to feel better after I pray.

Cravings: This week I'm craving apples, doritos and oreos. Not just any oreos but the Halloween ones. Spookalicious :)

Exercise: Still running and walking lots. Does a body and baby good! Plus this mommy has 3 races to get ready for.

Feelings: Happy, Excited, Happy, Excited and yes a little nervous. I can't lie and say I'm not a little bit scared about the labor part. The first time around I really wasn't sure about how long I was going to take or the level of pain but now I know and it's not easy :) With munchkin I went epidural free during the entire labor which was 16 hours (I will post munchkins birth story very soon) and he was born naturally. My plan with Jellybean is the same. I know I can handle the pain, I got this!!

Bladder: A disaster! Talk about having to pee every single moment of the day. I'm starting to think a diaper sounds like a great idea. To think that I'm only half way.

Kary xoxo

Blessed with amazing friends!

Through this blog I've been blessed with the most amazing friendships and I've gotten to hug a few of you, which has been the best!
Thanks to Instagram I've also been blessed with amazing friendships. Some of the girls that I've met, it's like we've been friends forever. We can talk about anything, many have become my best friends.
One of those special friendships has been with the sweet Maria A.K.A @ninigemeni. She is an amazing mommy to three and amazing wife to her sweet husband. She has become one of my besties, we text each other during the week and I'm blessed to call her my friend!
Before I got pregnant with Jellybean we talked about one day having my baby girl. She promised to put away one of her baby girls clothing for my future little girl. Who would think it would happen in a few months.
Flower dress and gold slippers for Jellybean
This past Saturday Norah sent the sweetest package to her little bestie Jellybean :) A little flower dress with bloomers and little gold slippers. I can not wait until baby girl gets to wear such a special little dress. These will definitely be treasured and put away so that Jellybean can one day share with her baby girl.
Not only did they send our little Jellybean the sweetest package but they also sent munchkin something very special.

Only Child - Expiring Feb. 2014

Maria's husband started his own screen printing shop a year ago and he was so amazing to make this personalized shirt for our munchkin! He loved it so much that he wore it 2 days straight :) He got so many compliments at school and he wants to wear it everyday.
I am so blessed to have Maria and her family in my life, and I don't mean that because of the gifts that they sent us, but because this girl is always there for me. You can always tell when someone is your real friend, that person will always know when something is wrong and will always be there through thick and thin. She's an amazing friend and I love her lots.

Fall Soccer

Starbucks coffee in my Starbucks mug
Snacks - Coffee - Soccer ball - Check!
Our little Soccer player
After game coffee

It's just the second game of the Fall Soccer season, but having to wake up early for games, logging around bags and carrying Jellybean makes it a little bit hard. My nights are a little restless so this mama would love a little late wake up call. But it's all worth it, getting to see our munchkin run around, laugh and see him being the happy child that is makes everything worth it! It just makes me smile ear to ear when I imagine him and his little sister running around.
Cheers to more early weekend soccer games :)

Jellybean - Bump Update Week 21

What's Up With Baby: Jellybean she's a riot! She is such an active baby, (our munchkin was the same way. You could see my stomach going up and down like waves), she has me laughing all day with the kicks and punches that she gives me. Husband always asks me the same question after he feels her move and I always answer the same thing 'Who knows what she's doing up in there, but this girl is a little fluttering butterfly :)

What's Up With Mama: I finally gained 2lbs from the 10+ lbs that I lost - Yay!! This mommy can also finally eat cupcakes again :) My eating routine is still a little bad because the nausea is it still there sometimes BUT I am doing much better! My nights are getting a little bit restless, I try to lay down sideways and Jellybean doesn't.
I went to the hematologist and I need to go back for test results at the end of October and I need more test done. Still praying everything is ok.

Cravings: This week I'm craving everything but not actually eating what I crave. Huh?!? Yeah, exactly my thought. I will crave some cookies, I buy them and when I have them and it's time to eat them, I just can't go through with it. This mommy has a serious problem.

Exercise: I'm still running slowly and walking lots. I'm always on the run and I have to constantly be told to stay still and relax but I can't. I 'm just so used to running around. I already signed up for 3 races in October - Somebody stop me!! :)

Feelings: Happy, Excited, Happy, Excited! I am over the moon! Now that we know the gender I can't help wanting to buy everything in sight :)

Bladder: I have to pee every second of the day. It's not even funny how many times I get up at night. My bladder is a mess and it's only going to get worse.
