Not this year :(

Yesterday the results of the TCS NYC Marathon came out, meaning we got to find out if we were accepted to run the marathon this 2014. I applied, I didn't say anything before because I know that once you say it out loud. it becomes real. This girl still wanted to back out, out of fear. Well I didn't and I patiently waited all day yesterday to find out if I would get to run. It was 7pm and nothing yet, at 7:05pm the email came in. It said I wasn't accepted. my heart dropped and i felt like crying.
Why? I know there will be other races and that everything happens for a reason, but I couldn't help it :( Well. I'm over it and now to move on! I know this was a sign that just says that this was not the year for the marathon. The time will come and in the mean time I will prepare myself mentally and physically. because when the time comes I will kick that marathons butt!!

Congratulations too all those who did get accepted!

Will you be running the NYC marathon this year?

Love,
Kary xoxo

Walking With Dinosaurs Review

Available on Blu-Ray and Dvd March 25th
To celebrate the release of Walking with Dinosaurs on Blu-Ray and Dvd tomorrow March 25th we enjoyed a Dinosaur Activity Day on Saturday.

Munchkin and Frida coloring in their dinosaur activity sheets
Snacking on yummy treats and excited to see the movie
The day consisted of fun activities like coloring, playing with dinosaurs and preparing yummy snacks to eat while watching a special screening of Walking With Dinosaurs from the comfort of our home :)
Munchkin and my niece Frida love dinosaurs, they could live at the Museum Of Natural History.
Movie time came and before we knew it, the movie was over and I had two kids that wanted to watch it again.
My son who wants to be a paleontologist loved watching the movie and learning the dinosaur names. Every time a new dinosaur came out, facts about that dinosaur popped up. Name, description and whether it was a herbivore or carnivore. My niece who's 1 yr old loved watching the dinosaurs running around and even though she doesn't fully comprehend the story line, she was able to enjoy it and the best thing is that as she grows up she can watch the movie to learn about dinosaurs.
The story of dinosaurs is told by a talking Raven (John Leguizamo) he is the narrator through out the movie and makes it fun to watch. The story follows Patchi, Scowler (his brother), Juniper (his crush) and their tribe as they migrate south for the winter and north during the Spring. There's action, love and a few sad parts but all in all it's a fun movie to watch. The kids will love it and kids younger than 8 years old will love watching the dinosaurs, colors and beautiful views.
This is a movie that you won't want to miss, so make sure to get your copy tomorrow and make it a fun movie date with your family.

Do you love dinosaurs?

Love,
Kary xoxo

It's The Simple Things In Life

Getting to kiss and stare at baby toes is the best!

Taking a sweaty selfie after my  munchkin takes me out to square dance with him during his school show! :)

Living in the city that never sleeps and getting to walk around Central Park at night to enjoy this breathtaking view.

Getting to wear these fun flower boots and finding random flower chalk art that reminds me that Spring is just around the corner.

What made you smile and make you feel grateful this week?

Happy Friday Loves!

1st Post Baby Race Planning

I LOVE every second that I spend with my little Jellybean and I'm enjoying every second of it. I know that children grow up way too fast and one day I won't have these moments. I wish I could freeze time to where I could always cuddle with my babies and even though this is very true I can't help but miss running. Running is what helped me find myself again, it's what kept me sane it's what I love to do. So as the days go by I can't help but dream about my feet hitting the pavement and thus begins the planning of my 1st post baby race. I don't have my doctor's appointment until March 21st where I'm hoping to get the go to workout again and resume my normal fitness routine. I can than start training for what I'm hoping, no not hoping, for what I know will be my 1st post baby race. The Oakley Mini 10K. You all know this race holds a special place in my heart for so many reasons that you can read here and now I can add one more which is the one from last year. Last year I ran this race and I was pregnant with Valentina. I just didn't know it! :) That makes last year that much more special, now this year I get to run for both my Jellybeans, they make me want to be a better me, they are my inspiration and what keeps me going!

Yay, to running again!

Love,
Kary xoxo

One Month

Our little Jellybean is one month old. I can't believe she's been with us for one month already, time goes by too fast and these days have flown by.
Yes, I forgot what it was like to have a newborn but these sleepless nights are worth it.
I love seeing my munchkin cuddle with his baby sister, he loves her so much and is already so protective of her.
Happy 1 Month Valentina :) We love you!!

Love,
Kary xo

Does a baby good

Breast milk does a baby good!
It seriously does. I remember breast feeding my munchkin and his immune system was pretty good. Not only that but the bond you get while breast feeding is one of a kind. It's so nurturing, now that I'm breastfeeding my little jellybean I get to relive those special moments again and I'm so grateful for them. I love feeding her and her little hand holding my finger or jellybean just staring at me. There really is no way to explain the bond that happens while breast feeding but it is one of a kind.

The only thing that I didn't miss about breast feeding were the leaky nipples and sore breasts but in the end the pros out weigh the cons!

So remember Breast feeding does a baby good!

What's your opinion on breast feeding?

Love,
Kary xoxo

Family Race here we come!!

This finally happened! This race has been on munchkins bucket list! Who am I kidding? It's been on my bucket list as well, and now we will run it together :)

Counting down the days till May 31, 2014!!

Have you run a Color Run before?

Love,
Kary xoxo

Mr.Peabody & Sherman Review

Disclosure: I was invited to see an early screening of Mr.Peabody & Sherman for reviewing purposes. Opinions in this post are 100% mine.

Yesterday munchkin and I had the chance to attend a private screening of the movie Mr.Peabody & Sherman. This movie has been on munchkins movie list for a while and when he found out that we were going to see it one week early. that's all he could talk about.

It was a fun, family event. There was face painting available.
Munchkin and I arrived early and were able to get matching Peabody tattoos.
Wearing our cute 3-D glasses
And than it was movie time! The mini short film in the beginning will have you and your little one giggling. It's never a Dreamwork movie without a mini short film. This one was no doubt a hit also. you could hear all the kids laughing in the movie theater.

Now to the main movie. By watching the Mr.Peabody trailer you think you have the whole movie figured out, right?! A dog and child travel back in time, in a time machine and go on adventures.
Well you don't! Not only is this movie perfect for little kids but it's also perfect for older kids and adults. They will learn and laugh at the same time. There might be a few scenes that might make you shed a few tears, but you'll be laughing again in no time. It's full of history and teaches kids in a very fun and funny way. They are sure to learn a few things and learn a lesson or two at the same time.
This movie is a must see for the entire family.

You don't want to miss this movie when it hits theaters March 7th

Will you be going to see this movie with your family?

Love,
Kary xoxo
