Talk about celebrating your birthday for an entire month, it was one week later and we were still celebrating Valentinas 5th birthday. This time I got to surprise her with a special trip to the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden to see Sesame Street Live! Make Your Magic. She had no idea and when it comes to keeping secrets i'm not the best, especially when i'm excited to see the reaction of the receiver. So you can imagine how hard it was for me to keep quiet for almost 3 weeks, especially since her two other favorite girls would join us.
Her auntie and cousin Frida.
The countdown was on.
This would be Valentinas 2nd time going to Sesame Street Live and as I counted down the days the excitement kept building up. It brought back the memories of when Miguel was younger and we'd take him to Sesame Street Live, it was definitely something we looked forward to every year and almost 10 years later the excitement was still the same.
We woke up early and took the train down to 34th St, Valentina still had no clue and I couldn't stop amiling from ear to ear. As we walked to Madison Square Garden she spotted her cousin and auntie, oh the running and hugging each other was the best. Especially since Valentina had been sick all week and we almost missed this special show. Still no clue, and both girls kept on walking while holding hands, it wasn't until someone walked by and said Sesame Street Live! that the girls found our why were there. Ahhhhh!!! They would get to see Rosita, Big Bird and Cookie Monster, just to name a few of the Sesame Street friends on stage.
What a perfect way to end a week!
Arriving a few minutes early meant we got to buy some fun lights and yummy treats, a few minutes later the lights dimmed. It was time to dance and sing with Big Bird and friends.
Woohoo! We couldn't stop screaming, yes we. I love Sesame Street and it holds a special place in my heart, so you better believe that when they started singing Sunny Days, this momma was right there singing along. Plus, there's nothing more contagious than that of a childs excitement.
This Sesame Street Live! show was all about magic tricks. It also reminded kids and adults how with practice and persistence everythign is possible. At the beginning of the show Elmo couldn't do a magic show, but with lots of practice he showed everyone in the crowd how hard work pays off.
Aside from that, it was full of lots of music, dancing, and colorful scenery.
One of the things that I love about the Hulu theater at the Madison Square Garden is that it doesn't matter where you sit, you get an amazing view and can see the stage clearly. Unless a really tall person sits infront of you, you might have to stretch up a little or if you have a litte one, ask the person infront of you if they don't mind lowering themselves down a little.
Aside from that, you will always have a good view. The tickets price vary depending on where you sit, but rest assure that your little one and you will still get to see Big Bird and friends clearly.
Another Sesame Street Live show down in the books, full of laughter and beautiful family memories. Make sure to stay tuned to our Youtube channel, because a vlog will be going up.
Also check out the Madison Square Garden website and follow them on social media so you don't miss out on all the family friendly shows that will be coming soon to the Hulu Theater at the Madison Square Garden.
Love,
Kary xoxo
