A Runners Diary - One Of Many Entries

Runnning is alone time that lets my brain unspool the tangles that build up over days.
It's almost like I'm running away from my problems, when in reality I'm running right through them and overworking them. That is what running helps me with.
The moment I put on those headphones, running shoes and feel the fresh air that blows through the trees in Central Park, I know i'm at one of my happy places and everything will be ok.
Every breath I take reminds me that I take it for my grandfather who struggled to breathe, during his last days of life.
It reminds me that no matter how slow or fast I am going, the only person that I am up against is myself.
My happy place where I get to feel my heart pumping and my feet pounding down on the pavement, it reminds me that I am alive. And as long as I am alive there is hope.

What is your happy place?

Love,
Kary xoxo
