A runner must run with dreams in his ❤...

And my dream is to run in races again and someday run the ING NYC Marathon like my dad & hubby!

Like I said in this post here. I've always loved to run, there's something  just so liberating about it!
Therefore these past three weeks have been heaven, I've been able to once again start jogging lightly around the reservoir located in Central Park. Now when I say jogging lightly I mean that I power walk, run, power walk, run, power walk, run for 3.32 miles. I'm very happy to say that this week my time has gone down! Which means that I am running more and I can't wait till the day when I can tell you that I officially ran all of the 3.32 miles! Give me a month - I promise!! :)

Me after my morning workout! Thus the reason for the very red face :)
I fell of the wagon once and it's been a very long journey to finally get to this point in my life. I've never been SO determined to be the best that I can be, a healthier me, and a more fitter me! You my beautiful friends have always been here for me and with your encouraging words, tweets and emails you've always helped me believe that I can and that I will be "me" again!
Thus begins my weight loss adventure and I know that by posting updates on how I'm doing, I have no excuse to not keep my word.

So far it's been three months that I stopped drinking soda - yes!!!
One month that I stopped drinking juice, and I've been drinking nothing but water.
I'm incorporating more green foods into my diet such as Kale and Chard.
I'm eating less rice and eating more Quinoa.

Yesterday hubby and I went shopping at Trader Joe's and we made sure to stock up on some yummy, healthy eats.

Last night's dinner? Kale vegetable soup.
Now I'm looking into a good yet yummy green smoothie recipe, Do you know any?
and I need to get me some sunblock! I read that runners are most likely to suffer from skin cancer. And to tell you the truth I never use sunscreen! I need to start using it stat! Especially when I go for my runs, the sun is always out and it shines on me directly!
Do you have any suggestions on a sunscreen to use?

Are you working on any special goal right now?

Love,
Kary xoxo

  1. Well done, Kary! I'm so proud of you!

I just finished my 14 week running clinic and I can do up to 10km now... without keeling over and dying! That's progress, right? I like to run for 10 min, walk for 1 or 2 minutes and repeat 4-6 times. Am determined to keep it up, at least three times a week until it is just something that I always do. I love to run with Dylan- he rides his bike and we take the trail around the lake near our house. It's about 6km... and such a pretty spot. Next time I'm in NYC, we'll do a run together around the reservoir, okay?

I just read about the best kind of sunscreen on Cup of Jo today... I'm definitely going to get myself some. Here's the link so you can read all about it: http://joannagoddard.blogspot.ca/2012/04/summer-essential-2-best-natural.html

I'm trying to eat healthy, too. I need to drink more water! Good thing for my fab new water bottle from my lovely friend in New York, no?

I fully support you in your efforts, my dear. I'll happily check in with you every week so we can cheer each other on if you like.

    Let's skype all about it!

  2. You are fantastic Kary. I see your determination and it's really inspiring. I mean changing your diet as well. That is so important. I look forward in seeing any recipes and such. As for sunscreen I'm not sure what is the best one to use but you definitely need to use it.

I'm just trying relax more and not worry about doing things. Just sitting still is hard for me. But I'm soo proud of you! x
