Time to get back and bring it on!!

1st Before and After back in July 2012

I started my "weight loss" journey back in May 2012. The only thing that I didn't know back then was that it really wasn't about losing weight but about finding myself, embracing my curves and learning that running was what I truly loved to do (aside from being a mom, which is my number #1 priority).
It's been rough, there have been times when I thought I couldn't and wouldn't do it. But than I rang in 2013 by doing my first race and soon after my 1st half marathon. I ran a few more races and even ran while pregnant with Jellybean. It's now been 5 months that I haven't gone for a run and really haven't been that active. It's been making me feel a little bit down. I've started to let those ugly thoughts of feeling fat creep into my head. It's been a long time that I kicked that out of my life and it sucks that I'm letting them creep back into my life. There's nothing worse than feeling sorry for yourself.
But, it's time to lace up those running shoes again. I ordered a new running watch, my iPod has new songs and I'm planning to go for my 1st run tomorrow morning.
Yes, I will take it easy. I will ease in by walking and running, I will not be hard on myself and I will remind myself that slowly but surely I will be back to running.
I will kick those nasty thoughts out of my mind and I will let running clear my mind, I will lose myself with the music and I will enjoy every breath I take!

22.3 lbs lighter and this girl is ready to bring it on!

My new goals - get ready to train for two races that will take place in June. One is the Oakley Mini 10k, which I did last year while pregnant with Jellybean and the second one is the Achilles Hope and Possibility 5M. I was supposed to run that one last year, but I was not feeling so good with my pregnancy and it was SO hot and humid I had to sit out the race. But this year I will run for me and my munchkins!

Goals:
1- Prepare for Race 1 - Mini 10K (6 miles)
2- Prepare for Race 2 - Achilles Hope & Possibility (5 miles)
3- Lose some more weight, lets start with being in the 150's by June. That gives me 2 months to lose 10lbs or more.

I'm excited to make a comeback!

What are your goals?

Love,
Kary xoxo
