Achilles - Hope & Possibility 5M Race

At the finish line with my dad!

Yay - A medal & bagel at the finish line :)

Another hard end medal in the books!

This is what my weekend looked like :) It's always a good weekend when it ends with a race.
I'm loving getting back to running, I missed the feeling of my feet hitting the pavement. This is my 2nd race after V was born and let me tell you that the recovery was way better!
Every race is special but this one was a special one.
1- It was my last race in my 32 year of life (my birthday is tomorrow)
2-  I was supposed to run this race last year
I was signed up and everything but it was way too HOT during last years race. There was a weather advisory, so my family did not let me participate, I was pregnant with V and it was just too dangerous. Especially because I was in the early weeks of my pregnancy. So, my dad ran instead and dedicated the medal to V. It's hanging in her room, but last year I promised that I would run it for her and Miguel. I kept my word! Even though it was hot.
It was an amazing race I ran with my dad, crossed the finish line with him and ran for my children.
Let me not forget to mention that this race is full of amazing people! Everyone who completes this and any race whether it's running, walking or crawling is a champion!
Remember to always do everything with heart - and you're set!

Kary xoxo

Our little Jellybean - our little happy baby!

My munchkin - the Elementary Graduate
Class of 2014

Today my son had his graduation ceremony and he is officially an Elementary graduate and he will be going to Junior High School.
I was a mess during the entire ceremony, and couldn't  stop crying. They showed a memory DVD with pictures and there was a video of when my baby was in Kindergarten and playing music during a school recital. I couldn't stop crying, when did my baby get so big.
I can't believe how fast time goes by. It seems like only yesterday I was taking my baby to his first day of Kindergarten, and next year I  get to walk him to his first day at a new school and his first year of Jr High School. I am one proud mommy. Let me state that again, we are a proud family. So proud of the amazing young man that my baby is turning into. He is caring, sweet, amazing son and an amazing big brother. I can't wait to see the places life will take him & I will pray that God keeps blessing him with many more wonderful things!

Class of 2014

Oakley Mini 10K

At the start line of the Oakley Mini 10K

2 miles in and I was already a hot & sweaty mess!

At the Finish Line with my biggest fan & supporter - My daddy!!

This medal was earned!

Done! Another Oakley Mini 10k in the books. Last year I ran it with Jellybean, I was pregnant and I didn't know it :) This year I ran it for Jellybean and Munchkin. They seriously pushed me and helped me get through this race. Confession - I did not train at all for this race and I almost didn't do it. But I figured I could always walk it. I had to cross that finish line no matter what. Every time I felt tired I looked at my phones wallpaper which has a picture of both my babies, that gave me energy. It also helped that my dad met me at the half way mark and did the last 3 miles with me. Talk about being my biggest supporter. I wanted to cry when I saw him standing there waiting to run with me. It was an unforgettable race, I did not PR but I did cross the finish line and that's all that matters in my book.
I finished with heart and I am super proud!

Can't wait for the 2015 Oakley Mini 10k
I will be sure to kick some butt and run with heart!

Love,
Kary xoxo

Biggest party of the Summer - Rio 2

Are you ready for more fun & music?

Rio 2 comes out on 3D Blu-Ray, Blu Ray & DVD July 15th!!
Yay, that's a little over a month :) I missed this while it was in theaters but I've heard so many good things about it. I am so ready to Samba with Rio and his new adventures!

The Blu ray comes with more than one hour of special features, including  15 exclusive levels of Angry Birds Rio and two bonus songs. Talk about fun!! My munchkin is especially excited about these added bonuses. His Summer will surely be full of playing this game.

The audio included aside from English is Portuguese, Spanish and French (Subtitles are the same)
Love that Rio is multi language!

This movie is sure to be a Summer hit, so put on your dancing shoes and get ready to
SAMBA!! :)

Did you watch Rio 2 in theaters?

Love,
Kary xoxo

We love you, Mama Maurilia

Today our heart is sad. Our dear Mama Maurilia has passed away My great grandmother, Miguelitos & Valentinas Great-great grandmother, she lived 99 beautiful years. My munchkin was able to meet her & receive her blessing, my Valentina wasn't able to meet her but I was able to go last Summer 2013 while pregnant with my little jellybean and my mama Maurilia blessed my belly.
Even though our heart i sad because we will not see her again, we are happy because she is resting in peace. We also know that she had a few special loved ones waiting for her upon her arrival.
We love you, mama Maurilia. We will never forget you, you will always live in our hearts & memories. Please give our Papa Betitio a big hug and kiss!

Love you always.

The Color Run 2014 - Kaleidoscope Tour

At the start line

Rocking our HAPPY tattoos - courtesy of The Color Run

Just after hitting the first color station which was pink
we were pinktafied

Munchkin was so happy!!

Hit with more color!!

Done

Looking at Munchkin through a Kaleidoscope

Yay!! We are officially part of the Color Run family! This Saturday (5-31-14) We completed the happiest 5k on earth and we had a blast! The excitement that is built up until you hit that first color station is worth the hype. Munchkin and I had so much fun talking and counting down the time till we got hit with color and once we got past our first color station we couldn't wait to run past the next one.
We did the one in Queens, the course took place in the Citi field parking lot and as we went through the course we could see the color stations which in our case made us go faster so we could get more color - lol. The color and music, made for a perfect morning of running and laughter.
I loved making memories with my munchkin and talking with him about doing this race with Valentina sometime in the future. We are already planning next years color run.

Have you participated in a Color Run?
Or will you be doing your first one this year?

Love,
Kary xoxo
